The Gut Fix is a book I’ve been awaiting for many years. As an integrative health and nutrition coach, I have been following the growing body of research on the far reaching effects of the gut and microbiome. It is unquestionably a fascinating and important field of study. But, what many of us grapple with is how to practically and safely apply the research in a real world setting. This stellar book is incredibly helpful in this regard.
Some “experts” in the field advise about certain foods to avoid and others to include in ones diet.

That’s a good place to start. However, taking a broader view adds so much more to our understanding. Within the pages of The Gut Fix, a diverse range of topics is covered including basic anatomy, ancestral nutrition (foods our descendants ate and thrived on), anti-nutrients, autoimmunity, dysbiosis (an imbalance of microorganisms in our gut), medication-related complications, nutrient deficiencies and how to address them, regenerative farming and more. The holistic approach described details the steps Heidi Moretti uses in her clinical practice and provides valuable case studies of some of her successes treating patients with gut-related conditions.
If you’re looking for a root-cause approach to improving conditions such as constipation or diarrhea, food intolerances and sensitivities, gut infections, heartburn, IBD or IBS, nausea, SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and more, this is the book for you. I highly recommend it and I know I will keep my copy close at hand to assist many of my clients, family and friends.
