For people who prefer savory over sweet treats, the following high fiber snack is a great alternative.

Criteria for selecting the best fiber bars
Choosing the best fiber bars is quite simple for this post.
- First, those with high amounts of sugar don’t make the cut.
- Second, I chose to avoid products that have added soy or GMO corn.
- Third, all products need to be wheat-free.
- Additionally, only brands with good reputations were chosen and products that have high ratings for taste.
- The fiber content needs to be at least 5 grams per bar as well.
- Organic ingredients are definitely preferred and listed. They are somewhat challenging to find.
- Products with artificial ingredients are also eliminated for this post.
Tips for adding more fiber to your diet
Fiber seems benign, but it isn’t. The most important thing to know about adding more fiber foods, including fiber bars, is to start slowly.
I suggest that you increase your fiber by around 5-8 grams per day. This will help your gut adapt to the changes in fiber.
Additionally, if you have more fiber, you need plenty of hydration. A good rule of thumb is to drink an extra 8 oz glass of water for every 5 grams of fiber that you add in per day.
This helps the fiber do its work in the gut and prevents gut upset and constipation caused by the low water-to-fiber ratio in your diet.
Common fiber bar questions
Are fiber one bars healthy?
Not particularly. Even the best fiber one bars are not as good as the bars listed above because Fiber One bars have GMO ingredients and high allergen ingredients like wheat, corn syrup, and soy. Fiber One bars review topics are usually centered around taste. Even though Fiber One bars are high in fiber at around 9 grams per bar, this doesn’t make them healthy. High in sugar, they do taste pretty good, but I can’t get past the suspect ingredient list.
Are some healthy fiber bars too high in saturated fat?
Probably not for most people. This is because saturated fat in these bars comes from whole food ingredients like coconut, which has never been directly shown to increase blood levels of cholesterol.
Should I just choose plant-based protein bars?
This is a personal choice, but with plant-based protein bars, you can miss out on some healing ingredients such as collagen.
Is allulose natural?
Yes. It is a natural sweetener that is found in many fruits. Stevia and monk fruit are also natural sweeteners. Erythritol is naturally found in foods but is sometimes manufactured.
Are fiber bars high in nutrition?
This highly depends on the ingredients that are in the bar. For example, coconut is full of healthy natural fibers that are good for gut health and so is collagen, which is good for joint health and gut health.
Grass-fed whey protein is very nutritious because of its high protein content, but some people have dairy allergies. Additionally, some fiber bars contain ingredients that are full of inflammatory compounds like sugar and corn syrup.

Are KIND bars good for health?
Not really. The flavors vary in their sugar content, but range between 5 and 9 grams of added sugar that is highly processed. Any of the bars listed above have less sugar than Kind Bars. They may be better than Fiber One bars because the rest of the ingredients tend to be whole foods, but not by much.
High fiber bars recipe ideas
Some of the best fiber bars for healthy digestive function, pooping, and overall gut health are homemade.
Most people these days don’t go to the trouble of making their own, but if you are interested in doing so, my favorite recipe out there is High Fiber Granola Bars by Fork in the Kitchen. My only tip would be to use ground flax seeds instead and ferment them first to make this recipe even more gut healthy.
Collagen Cookie Dough recipe is another good option because it contains high fiber coconut flour and is highly rated for taste.
