Both collagen supplements and colostrum supplements have been part of my health routine for years now. This is for many reasons. In short, colostrum has amazing immune benefits and for me personally has helped me to go off of the awful over-the-counter anti-histamine medications and has tremendous gut healing effects. Collagen has undisputed benefits for joint health, bone health, skin health, and gut health.
So when the new product from MK Supplements called MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum was released it was a no-brainer for me to try. I purchased my first bag from Amazon about a week ago and I’m excited to share with you my thoughts and honest review.

MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum: Dose and Taste
I’m a long-time user of MK Supplements Organ Meats and MK Supplements Liver Supplements, so I was very curious about their new release of MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen and Colostrum.
I tried this supplement but you should know I was initially a little skeptical because I normally take a large dose of Colostrum supplements per day at around 8 grams of colostrum per day.
In contrast, the MK Supplements brand has 3 grams of colostrum per serving so I was a little worried that my allergies would worsen on a smaller dose. I’m happy to say that they didn’t get worse with this lower dose. In fact I’m rather pleased with how I’m feeling while taking this natural colostrum and collagen supplement. Granted, this isn’t peak allergy season, so I will update this post in May when my allergies tend to be in full swing.
In the past, the collagen supplements that I have tried have been sort of well, healthy-tasting, but not in a good way. Never in a million years would I have mixed collagen into my coffee because it would spoil my favorite coffee drink.
Not so with MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum. Even though it is unflavored it has a hint of what my tastebuds perceive as a natural almond flavor, which I love. My guess as to why it tastes so much better than all the other collagen supplements on the market is because it is regeneratively sourced and this means that the cows are treated well and nourished well. The quality comes through with a superior taste.
I have been mixing it in filtered water each morning and it is rather tasty on its own. But, you can certainly mix it into warm (not hot) or cold beverages and other beverages of your choice, such as milk or kefir. By the way, each serving has 10 grams of collagen.
My Body’s Response to MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum

In short, I really love how I feel using this supplement. But I will get into the details a bit more.
My allergies are well-controlled, and my gut feels great so far. The other nice thing I’m noticing is that I can use less of this supplement than most collagen supplements and notice a nice glow to my skin.
Day 1 my gut wasn’t so sure about this supplement but I think it had more to do with some grief issues I was going through.
Day 2 and beyond, my gut feels fantastic with this supplement. But be aware that sometimes healing compounds can initially make you feel slightly worse before making you better and this is affectionately called a healing reaction.
I don’t think I’m alone in the fact that my skin always looks objectively better when I use both colostrum and collagen. The nice thing is that this particular supplement is noticeable in my skin health within an hour of taking it. Granted, I’m 50 but people keep telling me that I could pass for in my ‘30s a lot of the time, especially recently.
MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum: Sourcing and Quality

When it comes to the foods I eat and the supplements I take, sourcing is very important.
This is because what I eat not only affects me, it affects the health of the planet.
You can feel good about MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum because it is sourced from 100% grass-fed New Zealand dairy cows. It’s also halal and kosher-certified. Additionally, it is taken from the first milking after the calf has more than plenty of its own colostrum. Cows, by the way, make an abundance of colostrum, which is more than a calf needs.
The product is low-heat spray-dried as opposed to high-heat flash pasteurization to retain more nutrients and to help keep the bioactive compounds intact. These compounds include lactoferrin, immunoglobulins, antibodies, and growth factors.
It is also GMP certified, meaning that it is tested for quality and purity by 3rd party independent labs.
Their products are tested for heavy metals and are and are glyphosate-free if they are less than 100 ng/g, which they are. Also, they post their 3rd party tests online which is more transparent than most companies are these days.
Cost
Like most people, cost is an important factor when deciding which supplements to buy.
You will be happy to know that this synergistic supplement is much more cost-effective than any collagen or colostrum supplement on the market.
Let me explain.
Each bag of MK Supplements Collagen & Colostrum contains 45 servings. If you use the code THEHEALTHYRD you save 15% and the subscription cost is then $57.38 with the discount code. This translates to $1.28 per day.
In contrast, my favorite competitor colostrum (Sovereign Laboratories) costs $1.56 per day for the colostrum alone.
If you are to add in a collagen supplement, the typical price is about $0.75 for a comparable dose. In total, you would spend about $2.31 to get a similar product combination.
By the way, it’s cheaper on the MK Supplements website than on Amazon, but its up to you where you choose to buy it.
Allergies and Side Effects
This product is lactose-free, meaning that people who are lactose intolerant can still enjoy the benefits of this supplement. However, if you have a true dairy allergy you should avoid taking it.
Other than that, a healing reaction is possible, but this means that this product is doing its job; helping you heal. Give it a few days to work and try a lower dose if necessary.
Verdict of MK Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen & Colostrum
I’m very pleased with this product overall because it is regeneratively sourced and I feel great taking it. There is no question that it will replace other collagen and colostrum supplements that I’m currently taking. It remains to be seen if I will need to add more colostrum back into my schedule in the fall, but I hope not because I’m going to save quite a bit of money by using this product.
